WHAT SIGUREC IS

Simply said, SIGUREC is the most advanced household waste collecting service currently operating in Romania, a smart, environmentally friendly recycling alternative that is easy to use, always close to your home, and that provides tangible benefits.

 

Unlike conventional recycling systems (like the classic garbage bins or selective collection containers), SIGUREC employs an advanced solution that is also being adopted by the developed economies in Western Europe: smart collecting machines that are easy to use, located in easily accessible locations, and a home collection service – including for home appliances like fridges!

 

SIGUREC is a broad initiative, implemented in Romania following an official agreement between private companies (the Green Group holding, the Large Retailers’ Association of Romania (AMRCR), Ecopaper SA, Romcarbon SA, ALRO Slatina) and public authorities – the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, municipalities, and recyclers.

 

The SIGUREC smart machines have several major advantages over the traditional waste collection systems:

 

1.    They collect most types of waste, from plastic packaging (including shopping bags food wrap), paper, aluminum cans, glass, batteries, light bulbs, neon lighting units etc. You shouldn’t waste much time thinking about it – if something should be discarded into a trash bin it will almost certainly be “digested” by the SIGUREC machines!

 

2.    They are located on the premises and in the parking lots of large retailers like Cora or Carrefour, thus being easily accessible. A shopping trip could thus be an opportunity to get rid of your waste! Also, you can call a collection car at your home. With SIGUREC smart recycling is close to home!

 

3.    They are fully automated and thus easy to use. Once waste is discarded into the machine, it will sort, count and weigh the individual pieces without you having to do anything else.

 

4.    The machines award bonuses according to waste types and quantities. The bonuses are shopping vouchers that are redeemable in partner stores.
